EmpowerTactics was built from what we see across the sector every day.

Mission-driven organizations grow, evolve, and take on more complex work, but the systems supporting that work do not always evolve with them. Over time, this creates a disconnect between what the organization is being asked to carry and how it is structured to function.

Leadership begins to hold more than it should, roles lose clarity, and decisions take longer or stall altogether. What once felt manageable starts to feel heavier, and the day-to-day work becomes more reactive than intentional.

Founder and Principal Consultant

Olivia Hickerson, CNP is the Founder and Principal Consultant of EmpowerTactics.

She works with mission-driven organizations navigating growth, leadership transition, and internal strain, often at the point where things feel urgent but unclear. Her work focuses on stabilizing operations, clarifying roles and decision-making, and aligning governance with day-to-day work so organizations can function with greater consistency and confidence.

Olivia brings a calm, structured approach to complex environments. She is known for identifying what is not working, naming it clearly, and building practical systems that support real-world decision-making.

Her work is grounded in equity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the pressures nonprofit leaders face. She approaches each engagement with respect for the people doing the work and a focus on creating systems that make that work more sustainable.
